The Pasionate Shepherd to His Love
This poem is a love stricken man's attempt to seduce the women he loves. The Shepherd promises all of the lovely things that a lady could ask for. His promises are unrealistic and he neglects to mention that he will love her back. He asks her to live with him and to be his love but never promses his love to her. Strangely, the promises all pertain to nature which may just be typical of the time period in which the poem was written.
